Come and learn how to create unique pieces of art in the stained glass class this fall.

This class will run 10 weeks.

Create something to give as a gift or a little something nice for yourself.

In this class, you will learn:

  • Cutting and soldering
  • Foil and Tiffany Style
  • How to use lead strips
The class takes place at Fab Lab ICC, North Shop area starting September 27th at 6:00PM

  • Pistol grip Glass Cutter
  • 1LB Roll 60/40 Solder
  • Breaking/Running Pliers
  • Grozier Pliers
  • Jewelry Pliers
  • Small Wire Cutters
  • Utility or Craft Knife
  • Safety Glasses or Goggles
  • Small Scissors
  • Small Whisk Broom/Dust Pan Set
  • Container(toolbox, bag, etc...)to keep tools in
  • Wear closed toed shoes to class

All of the above supplies can be purchased at Hobby Lobby, Amazon, AnthingStainedGlass.com, or Delphiglass.com or any other stained glass store.  Hobby Lobby has the best prices.

*If you are not sure you want to purchase the needed tools yet, there will be a few teacher supplied tools to share.

Course fee: $120.00

SparkSquad will provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks for all campers. Should participants prefer to bring their own meals, there is a refrigerator and microwave available for use. 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): SparkSquad will provide welding jackets, welding helmets, safety glasses, dust masks, and ear protections for the campers. Campers will need to purchase youth MIG welding gloves. Amazon does have these types of gloves and sizing guides available. Blue Demon is one brand that has welding gloves designed for kids. If you need help purchasing gloves, please give us a call at (620) 332-5618.

Dress Code: Campers are required to wear jeans and 100% cotton shirts. Long-sleeved shirts are recommended, though short-sleeved shirts are permissible. Wool and polyester blends are prohibited. Shorts, sweatpants, and sandals are not permitted. Leather work boots are suggested.

Safety Mindset: Campers will look out for each other to make sure work is done in a safe manner. Harassment and horseplay are strictly prohibited. Welding shops are designated safe areas, but they can become hazardous if students engage in running, pushing, or playing practical jokes on each other. Any camper who compromises the safety of the camp or mistreats another participant will be immediately dismissed.
